1. A traditional form of Chinese narrative singing or spoken storytelling accompanied by percussion (drum); a narrative ballad used in folk and theatrical performances.

   他年轻时学过鼓词，现在能演唱完整的传统段子。 tā niánqīng shí xué guò gǔcí xiànzài néng yǎnchàng wánzhěng de chuántǒng duànzi — He studied guci when he was young and can now perform complete traditional pieces.
