黄牛 — huángniú

1. ox; cattle

   田里有几头黄牛在吃草。 tiánlǐ yǒu jǐtóu huángniú zài chī cǎo — There are several oxen grazing in the field.

2. cattle (general term)

   这个农场主要饲养黄牛。 zhège nóngchǎngzhǔ yào sìyǎng huángniú — This farm mainly raises cattle.

3. scalper (person who resells tickets at inflated prices)

   演唱会门口有黄牛在倒卖门票。 yǎnchànghuì ménkǒu yǒu huángniú zài dǎomài ménpiào — There are scalpers reselling tickets at the concert entrance.

4. (dialect) to fail to show up

   他约好了要来，但最后黄牛了。 tā yuē hǎo le yàolái dàn zuìhòu huángniú le — He promised to come, but in the end he didn't show up.

5. (dialect) to break a promise

   他说要帮忙但又黄牛了，没兑现承诺。 tā shuō yào bāngmáng dàn yòu huángniú le méi duìxiàn chéngnuò — He said he'd help but broke his promise and didn't follow through.
