鬼子 — guǐzǐ

1. devil; derogatory term for foreign invaders

   他把来的人都叫鬼子。 tā bǎ lái de rén dōu jiào guǐzi — He called the people who came 'devils' (derogatory).

2. (historical) pejorative term for Japanese people/soldiers (esp. during resistance against Japanese aggression 1931–1945)

   在抗日战争时期，很多中国人称日本士兵为鬼子。 zài kàngrìzhànzhēng shíqī hěnduō zhōngguó rénchēng rìběn shìbīng wèi guǐzi — During the War of Resistance against Japan many Chinese called Japanese soldiers 'guizi'.
