1. high position; eminent status; top job

   他被提升到了公司的高位。 tā bèi tíshēng dào le gōngsī de gāowèi — He was promoted to a high position in the company.

2. raised position; upper (of the body, limbs)

   运动员的高位动作更容易受伤。 yùndòngyuán de gāowèi dòngzuò gèng róngyì shòushāng — An athlete's raised-position movements are more likely to get injured.

3. a high (local maximum); the high point on a scale (grade, temperature, latitude, etc.)
