骈文 — piánwén

1. a classical Chinese prose style characterized by paired phrases, parallelism, ornate diction; "parallel prose" (also 骈体文).

   清代许多奏章和骈文体的文章都以工整的对偶句著称。 qīngdài xǔduō zòuzhāng hé piánwén tǐ de wénzhāng dōu yǐ gōngzhěng de duìǒujù zhùchēng — Many memorials and compositions in the pianwen style of the Qing dynasty are known for their neatly balanced antithetical couplets.
