   首战失利并不意味着整个战役会失败。 shǒuzhàn shīlì bìng bù yìwèizhe zhěnggè zhànyì huì shībài — Losing the first battle does not mean the whole campaign will fail.

2. the first match/game in a tournament or competition; debut contest
