shí

食 — shí

1. to eat

   他从不挑食，什么都食。 tā cóng bù tiāoshí shénme dōu shí — He is never picky; he eats everything.

2. food

   桌上有很多食可以分享。 zhuōshàng yǒu hěnduō shí kěyǐ fēnxiǎng — There is a lot of food on the table to share.

3. animal feed

   农场每天早上给马准备食。 nóngchǎng měitiān zǎoshàng gěi mǎ zhǔnbèi shí — The farm prepares feed for the horses every morning.

4. eclipse

   今晚我们能观赏到一次月食。 jīnwǎn wǒmen néng guānshǎng dào yīcì yuèshí — Tonight we can observe a lunar eclipse.
