1. fluffy catkins or seed hairs (esp. willow/cottonwood) carried by the wind; floating lint-like fluff in spring

   春天河边的柳树开始吐絮，风一吹到处都是飞絮，车上也沾满了白色的绒毛。 chūntiān hébiān de liǔshù kāishǐ tǔxù fēng yī chuī dàochù dōu shì fēixù chēshàng yě zhānmǎn le báisè de róngmáo — In spring the willow trees by the river begin to shed fluff; when the wind blows there are flying catkins everywhere, and cars get covered with white lint.
