1. to tremble; to shiver (from cold, fear, or emotion)

   他听到坏消息后全身颤了起来。 tā tīngdào huàixiāoxī hòu quánshēn chàn le qǐlái — His whole body trembled after hearing the bad news.

2. to shake; to vibrate (physically)

   地板被重物压过后微微颤动。 dìbǎn bèi zhòngwù yā guòhòu wēiwēi chàndòng — The floor vibrated slightly after the heavy object passed over it.
