颠 — diān

1. top (of the head); apex

   他撞到了颠上的石头。 tā zhuàngdào le diān shàng de shítou — He hit the stone on the top.

2. to fall forwards; to topple forward

   自行车停不住，骑手向前颠去了。 zìxíngchē tíngbúzhù qíshǒu xiàngqián diān qù le — The bike couldn't stop; the rider fell forward.

3. inverted; upside-down

   罐子被颠过来放着。 guànzi bèi diān guòlái fàng zhe — The jar is placed upside-down.

4. to jolt; to shake violently

   货车颠得很厉害，货物都移位了。 huòchē diān dé hěn lìhài huòwù dōu yíwèi le — The truck jolted violently and the cargo shifted.
