领衔 — lǐngxián

1. to play the leading role; to star (in a show or film)

   这部电影由他领衔主演，口碑很好。 zhèbù diànyǐng yóu tā lǐngxiánzhǔyǎn kǒubēi hěn hǎo — He stars in this film and it has a good reputation.

2. to head the list of signatories; to be listed first (on a petition, letter, etc.)

   许多知名人士在请愿书上领衔签名支持改革。 xǔduō zhīmíngrénshì zài qǐngyuànshū shàng lǐngxián qiānmíng zhīchí gǎigé — Many well-known figures headed the petition in support of the reform.

3. to lead; to take the lead (in a list, lineup, or group of performers)

   在晚会的节目单上，她被安排领衔演出。 zài wǎnhuì de jiémùdān shàng tā bèi ānpái lǐngxián yǎnchū — On the gala program she was arranged to perform as the lead.
