顶头 — dǐngtóu

1. to come directly towards someone; to approach head-on

   车顶头开过来了，我们要让开。 chēdǐng tóu kāi guòlái le wǒmen yào ràngkāi — The car is coming straight at us; we must get out of the way.

2. top; summit; the highest part

   山的顶头被云雾遮住了。 shān de dǐngtóu bèi yúnwù zhēzhù le — The top of the mountain is covered by mist.

3. immediate; directly above or superior; primary (in rank)

   他是我的顶头上司，所有事情要先向他汇报。 tā shì wǒ de dǐngtóushàngsī suǒyǒu shìqíng yào xiānxiàng tā huìbào — He is my immediate superior; all matters must be reported to him first.
