   那场革命改变了整个国家的命运。 nàchǎng gémìng gǎibiàn le zhěnggè guójiā de mìngyùn — That revolution changed the destiny of the whole country.

2. to revolt against; to overthrow (a regime); to carry out a political uprising

   群众起来革命，推翻了腐败的政府。 qúnzhòng qǐlái gémìng tuīfān le fǔbài de zhèngfǔ — The masses rose in revolt and overthrew the corrupt government.

3. to revolutionize; to bring about radical change (in a field, system, technology)

   互联网技术革命了信息传播的方式。 hùliánwǎng jìshù gémìng le xìnxī chuánbō de fāngshì — Internet technology has revolutionized the way information is transmitted.

4. (historical) to withdraw the Mandate of Heaven and transition to a new dynasty (original classical meaning)
