2. social prestige; 'face' (reputation, dignity, social standing)

   他很在乎面子，不愿意当众认错。 tā hěn zàihū miànzi bù yuànyì dāngzhòng rèncuò — He cares a lot about face and doesn't want to admit mistakes in public.
