静态 — jìngtài

1. static; unchanging (e.g. a state that does not vary with time); steady-state (physics)

   这是一种静态的系统，参数不随时间变化。 zhè shì yīzhǒng jìngtài de xìtǒng cānshù bù suí shíjiān biànhuà — This is a static system; its parameters do not change over time.

2. sedate; calm; quiet in manner or appearance

   她的表情很静态，给人很沉稳的感觉。 tā de biǎoqíng hěn jìngtài gěi rén hěn chénwěn de gǎnjué — Her expression is very calm, giving a very composed impression.

3. passive (not active or dynamic); lacking noticeable change or activity

   在会议上他很静态，通常不主动发表意见。 zài huìyì shàng tā hěn jìngtài tōngcháng bù zhǔdòng fābiǎoyìjiàn — At meetings he is passive and usually does not speak up.

4. quiescent (electronics); having little or no current or activity in the non-driven state

   器件在静态时电流非常小。 qìjiàn zài jìngtài shí diànliú fēicháng xiǎo — The device draws very little current in its quiescent state.
