霸 — bà

1. hegemon; tyrant; lord; feudal chief

   他是当地的霸，大家都害怕他。 tā shì dāng dì de bà ， dà jiā dōu hài pà tā 。 — He is the local tyrant; everyone is afraid of him.

2. to rule by force; to usurp

   邻国被强势霸占了领土。 lín guó bèi qiáng shì bà zhàn le lǐng tǔ 。 — The neighboring country had its territory usurped by force.

3. (in modern advertising) master; dominant (as a marketing epithet)

   这款手机号称拍照之霸。 zhè kuǎn shǒu jī hào chēng pāi zhào zhī bà 。 — This phone is advertised as the 'master' of photography.
