1. median strip; central reservation (the strip separating opposing lanes of a road)

   这条公路中间有一道隔离带，防止车辆逆行。 zhètiáo gōnglù zhōngjiān yǒu yīdào gélídài fángzhǐ chēliàng nìxíng — There is a median strip in the middle of this road to prevent vehicles from going the wrong way.

2. quarantine barrier; buffer zone (a cordon or barrier to restrict movement, e.g. during an epidemic or for security)

   疫情期间，城市周边设立了隔离带，阻止人员流动。 yìqíng qījiān chéngshì zhōubiān shèlì le gélídài zǔzhǐ rényuán liúdòng — During the epidemic, quarantine barriers were set up around the city to stop people moving.
