1. to fall down; to fall from the sky

   一架飞机在空中受损，最终陨落。 yījià fēijī zài kōngzhōng shòusǔn zuìzhōng yǔnluò — A plane was damaged in the air and ultimately fell.

2. to decline or fall into decay (of dynasties, institutions, reputations)

   那个王朝经过多年内乱逐渐陨落。 nàge wángcháo jīngguò duōnián nèiluàn zhújiàn yǔnluò — That dynasty gradually declined after years of internal strife.

3. to die (literary, often used for heroes or dignified deaths)

   在保卫家园的战斗中，许多勇士英勇陨落。 zài bǎowèi jiāyuán de zhàndòu zhōng xǔduō yǒngshì yīngyǒng yǔnluò — In the battle defending their homeland, many warriors heroically fell.
