降压 — jiàngyā

1. to lower one's blood pressure; antihypertensive (as a verb)

   他需要每天吃药来降压。 tā xūyào měitiān chīyào lái jiàngyā — He needs to take medicine every day to lower his blood pressure.

2. to reduce the pressure (of a fluid); to relieve pressure in a system

   降压阀可以减小系统的压力。 jiàngyā fá kěyǐ jiǎnxiǎo xìtǒng de yālì — The pressure-reducing valve can lower the pressure in the system.

3. to lower (or step down) the voltage

   这个变压器用于降压。 zhège biànyāqì yòngyú jiàngyā — This transformer is used to step down the voltage.
