1. to bury oneself in something; to do something single-mindedly or without paying attention to surroundings

   他闷头儿干活儿，连饭都顾不上吃。 tā mēntóuer gànhuóér lián fàn dōu gùbùshàng chī — He buried himself in work and didn't even bother to eat.

2. sullen; sulky; in a sulky or gloomy mood and keeping to oneself

   她一着急就闷头儿，不爱说话。 tā yī zháojí jiù mèntouer bù ài shuōhuà — When she gets worried she becomes sullen and doesn't like to talk.
