1. gap; interval (temporal or spatial distance between two points/events)

   两次会议之间的间隔是两个小时。 liǎngcì huìyì zhījiān de jiàngé shì liǎnggè xiǎoshí — The interval between the two meetings is two hours.

2. compartment; sectioned-off space

   行李车上有几个小间隔可以放包。 xínglǐchē shàngyǒu jǐgè xiǎo jiàngé kěyǐ fàng bāo — There are several small compartments on the luggage cart to put bags.

3. to separate; to leave a gap of (e.g., two weeks, three meters)

   这些树之间间隔三米栽种。 zhèxiē shù zhījiān jiàngé sānmǐ zāizhòng — Plant these trees three meters apart.
