   请替我向你父母问候。 qǐng tì wǒ xiàng nǐ fùmǔ wènhòu — Please give my regards to your parents.

2. (colloq., figurative) to make an offensive reference to someone’s loved one; to insult by mentioning a person dear to the addressee

   他当着大家的面问候了对方的母亲，大家都很生气。 tā dāngzhe dàjiā de miàn wènhòu le duìfāng de mǔqīn dàjiā dōu hěn shēngqì — He insultingly referred to the other person's mother in front of everyone; everyone was very angry.
