闭合 — bìhé

1. to close by coming together (e.g., the lips of a wound, doors)

   伤口逐渐闭合，不需要缝合了。 shāngkǒu zhújiàn bìhé bù xūyào fénghé le — The wound gradually closed and no longer needed sutures.

2. to close by connecting in a loop (e.g., an electrical circuit)

   把开关合上，电路就闭合了。 bǎ kāiguān héshàng diànlù jiù bìhé le — Flip the switch and the circuit will close.

3. closed-loop; not open (describing a system or configuration)

   这是一个闭合控制系统，可以自动调节输出。 zhè shì yígè bìhé kòngzhìxìtǒng kěyǐ zìdòng tiáojié shūchū — This is a closed-loop control system that can automatically regulate output.
