1. ingot; metal bar (cast metal piece, e.g. of silver, gold, or lead)

   古代用于储藏黄金或白银的是铸成的锭子。 gǔdài yòngyú chǔcáng huángjīn huò báiyín de shì zhùchéng de dìngzi — In ancient times, gold or silver was stored as cast ingots.

2. spindle or bobbin (a roll or core for winding thread or yarn)

   纺织厂里换下满锭子的线轴，换上新的空锭子。 fǎngzhīchǎng lǐ huànxià mǎn dìngzi de xiànzhóu huànshàng xīn de kōng dìngzi — In the textile mill they change the full bobbins and replace them with empty ones.
