锅子 — guōzǐ

1. pot; generic cooking vessel

   把汤放进锅子里炖一会儿。 bǎ tāng fàngjìn guōzi lǐ dùn yīhuìer — Put the soup into the pot and simmer for a while.

2. pan; wok; a shallow or curved cooking pan used for frying or stir-frying

   这个锅子适合用来炒菜。 zhège guōzi shìhé yònglái chǎocài — This pan is suitable for stir-frying vegetables.

3. cauldron; large pot used for boiling or stewing

   村里的人用大锅子煮粥给大家吃。 cūnlǐ de rén yòng dà guōzi zhǔzhōu gěi dàjiā chī — The villagers used a large cauldron to cook porridge for everyone.

4. hotpot (a dish served in a shared pot)

   我们今晚去吃火锅，大家围着一个大锅子。 wǒmen jīnwǎn qù chīhuǒguō dàjiā wéizhe yígè dà guōzi — We're going to eat hotpot tonight; everyone gathers around a big pot.
