1. field; open land; plain

   村子旁边有一片野地。 cūnzi pángbiān yǒu yīpiàn yědì — There is a field next to the village.

2. limit; boundary

   古时候把都城以外的地方叫野。 gǔshíhòu bǎ dūchéng yǐwài de dìfāng jiào yě — In ancient times, the area beyond the capital was called 'ye' (the open lands).

3. rude; coarse; uncivilized

   他的举止很野，不太礼貌。 tā de jǔzhǐ hěn yě bù tài lǐmào — His manners are rude and not very polite.

4. feral; wild (not domesticated)

   雪豹是生活在高山野地的动物。 xuěbào shì shēnghuó zài gāoshān yědì de dòngwù — Snow leopards are animals that live in wild mountain areas.
