避暑 — bìshǔ

1. to spend the summer away from home; to go to a summer resort

   今年我打算去山上避暑。 jīnnián wǒ dǎsuàn qù shānshàng bìshǔ — This year I plan to go up to the mountains to escape the summer heat.

2. to avoid heatstroke; to take measures to keep cool in hot weather

   中午要注意避暑，多喝水并尽量待在阴凉处。 zhōngwǔ yào zhùyì bìshǔ duōhēshuǐ bìng jǐnliàng dài zài yīnliángchù — At noon be careful to avoid heatstroke: drink more water and try to stay in the shade.
