1. conversant with the Confucian classics; well versed in the classics

   他通经，读过许多儒家经典，学识很深。 tā tōngjīng dú guò xǔduō rújiā jīngdiǎn xuéshí hěn shēn — He is conversant with the classics; he has read many Confucian texts and has deep learning.

2. to stimulate or open menstrual flow (traditional Chinese medicine)
