透气 — tòuqì

1. to flow freely (of air); to ventilate

   把窗户打开，让房间透气。 bǎ chuānghù dǎkāi ràng fángjiān tòuqì — Open the window to ventilate the room.

2. breathable (of fabric, material)

   这件外套很透气，适合跑步时穿。 zhèjiàn wàitào hěn tòuqì shìhé pǎobù shí chuān — This jacket is very breathable, suitable for running.

3. to take a breath of fresh air; to get some air

   我出去透透气，五分钟就回。 wǒ chūqù tòutòuqì wǔfēnzhōng jiù huí — I'll go out for some fresh air; I'll be back in five minutes.

4. to divulge (a secret); to leak information

   别给外人透气公司的计划。 bié gěi wàirén tòuqì gōngsī de jìhuà — Don't leak the company's plan to outsiders.
