1. to penetrate; to seep through (physically)

   雨水透进了屋子。 yǔshuǐ tòujìn le wūzi — Rainwater seeped into the house.

2. to tell secretly; to let slip; to leak (information)

   他不小心把消息透给了记者。 tā bùxiǎo xīn bǎ xiāoxī tòu gěi le jìzhě — He accidentally leaked the information to a reporter.

3. thoroughly; through and through (intensifier)

   这本书我看透了。 zhè běnshū wǒ kàntòu le — I've read this book thoroughly (understood it completely).

4. to appear; to show (become visible or evident)

   经过分析，问题的真相终于透了出来。 jīngguò fēnxī wèntí de zhēnxiàng zhōngyú tòu le chūlái — After analysis, the truth of the problem finally came to light.
