   今天早上小区恢复供电了，工作人员正在向变电站送电。 jīntiān zǎoshàng xiǎoqū huīfù gōngdiàn le gōngzuòrényuán zhèngzài xiàng biàndiànzhàn sòngdiàn — This morning the neighborhood's power was restored; workers are energizing the substation.

2. to send an electrical current through equipment or a circuit (often used in technical/tests)

   为了进行送电试验，工程师先断开了负载，然后逐步向线路送电。 wèile jìnxíng sòngdiàn shìyàn gōngchéngshī xiān duànkāi le fùzài ránhòu zhúbù xiàng xiànlù sòngdiàn — For the power-on test, the engineers first disconnected the load, then gradually sent current into the line.
