1. to send/put into (a place or container); to convey into

   把文件送入档案室保存。 bǎ wénjiàn sòngrù dàngànshì bǎocún — Put the documents into the archive for safekeeping.

2. to send (someone) into an institution (e.g., hospital, prison); to admit/commit

   嫌疑人已被送入看守所等待侦查。 xiányírén yǐ bèi sòngrù kānshǒusuǒ děngdài zhēnchá — The suspect has been sent to the detention center pending investigation.
