1. to write without lifting one's pen from the paper

   他写字连写，看起来很流畅。 tā xiězì liánxiě kànqǐlái hěn liúchàng — He writes without lifting his pen; it looks very fluent.

2. (in the Romanization of Chinese) to write two or more syllables together as a single word (not separated by spaces)

   在拼音输入法里，连写可以把几个音节写在一起。 zài pīnyīnshūrù fǎ lǐ liánxiě kěyǐ bǎ jǐgè yīnjié xiě zài yìqǐ — In pinyin input methods, this feature can combine several syllables into one string.
