1. to welcome (a visitor or newcomer)

   他去机场迎来父母。 tā qù jīchǎng yínglái fùmǔ — He went to the airport to welcome his parents.

2. (fig.) to usher in; to mark the arrival of (an era, change, outcome)

   新政策迎来了经济增长的希望。 xīn zhèngcè yínglái le jīngjì zēngzhǎng de xīwàng — The new policy has ushered in hope for economic growth.
