1. to marry into (the husband's) family; to become part of a spouse's household

   他们结婚后就过门儿，搬到丈夫的老家去了。 tāmen jiéhūn hòu jiù guòméner bāndào zhàngfū de lǎojiā qù le — After they married they moved into the husband's family home.

2. (colloq.) to drop by someone's house; to pay a short visit

   我下午去你家过门儿，顺便把书还给你。 wǒ xiàwǔ qù nǐjiā guòméner shùnbiàn bǎ shū huángěi nǐ — I'll drop by your place this afternoon and return the book.
