过门 — guòmén

1. to pass through a doorway; to go through a door

   他刚才过门进来，看到大家都在讨论。 tā gāngcái guòmén jìnlái kàndào dàjiā dōu zài tǎolùn — He just passed through the doorway and saw everyone discussing.

2. (of a woman) to marry; to become someone's wife

   她嫁出去了，老家人说她已经过门了。 tā jiàchūqù le lǎojiārén shuō tā yǐjīng guòmén le — She has married; the family at her hometown says she has gone to her husband's home.

3. an orchestral music interlude in an opera; instrumental entr'acte

   歌剧中有一段过门，管弦乐把气氛推向高潮。 gējù zhōng yǒu yīduàn guòmén guǎnxiányuè bǎ qìfēn tuīxiàng gāocháo — There is an orchestral interlude in the opera; the orchestra pushes the atmosphere to a climax.
