过眼 — guòyǎn

1. to glance over; to take a quick look

   我只是随便过眼一下那份报告。 wǒ zhǐshì suíbiàn guòyǎn yīxià nàfèn bàogào — I just glanced over that report.

2. fleeting; transient; passing (as in something that quickly fades from memory)

   那些纷扰终究不过是过眼云烟。 nàxiē fēnrǎo zhōngjiū bùguò shì guòyǎnyúnyān — Those troubles are, in the end, nothing but passing clouds (i.e. fleeting).
