1. to pass through someone's hands; to be handled or processed by someone

   这份报告已经过手好几个人了，最后还需要老板签字。 zhèfèn bàogào yǐjīng guòshǒu hǎojǐgè rén le zuìhòu hái xūyào lǎobǎn qiānzì — This report has passed through several people's hands; it still needs the boss's signature.

2. to handle briefly; to touch or use something for a short time; to circulate (among people)

   那把刀常常在厨房里过手，所以刀柄有点松。 nà bǎ dāo chángcháng zài chúfáng lǐ guòshǒu suǒyǐ dāobǐng yǒudiǎn sōng — That knife is often handled in the kitchen, so the handle is a bit loose.
