迂 — yū

1. literal-minded; pedantic

   他为人迂腐，讲话总是过于死板且枯燥。 tā wéi rén yūfǔ jiǎnghuà zǒngshì guòyú sǐbǎn qiě kūzào — He is pedantic; his speech is always overly rigid and dry.

2. doctrinaire; inflexibly attached to theory or doctrine

   他的主张过于迂，不能灵活应对现实问题。 tā de zhǔzhāng guòyú yū bùnéng línghuó yìngduì xiànshí wèntí — His positions are too doctrinaire and cannot flexibly address practical problems.

3. long-winded; prolix

   这篇报告措辞迂回冗长，读起来让人费解。 zhè piān bàogào cuòcí yūhuí rǒngcháng dú qǐlái ràng rén fèijiě — This report is worded in a roundabout and long-winded way; it's hard to read.

4. circuitous; roundabout (of a route or manner)

   这条小路迂回曲折，不适合大型车辆通行。 zhètiáo xiǎolù yūhuíqūzhé búshì hé dàxíng chēliàngtōngxíng — This path is circuitous and winding; it's not suitable for large vehicles.
