1. sideline (the boundary line of a playing field); also figuratively the sidelines

   他在球场边线附近接球。 tā zài qiúchǎng biānxiàn fùjìn jiēqiú — He caught the ball near the sideline.

2. foul line (line that if crossed constitutes a foul or violation)

   罚球时他脚踩到边线，被判犯规。 fáqiú shí tā jiǎo cǎidào biānxiàn bèipàn fànguī — At the free throw he stepped on the foul line and was called for a violation.
