1. to compare (bound form)

   请把这两份方案较一较，再决定。 qǐng bǎ zhè liǎngfèn fāngàn jiào yī jiào zài juédìng — Please compare these two proposals before deciding.

2. (literary) to dispute; to argue

   他不愿与人较是非，宁可吃点亏。 tā bù yuàn yǔ rén jiào shìfēi nìngkě chī diǎn kuī — He doesn't like to dispute right and wrong with others; he'd rather take a small loss.

3. compared to; in comparison with

   较去年同期，销量有所上升。 jiào qùniántóngqī xiāoliàng yǒusuǒ shàngshēng — Compared to the same period last year, sales have increased.

4. relatively; comparatively; rather (used before an adjective)

   今天的天气较冷，出门要多穿衣服。 jīntiān de tiānqì jiào lěng chūmén yào duō chuānyīfú — Today's weather is relatively cold; wear more clothes when you go out.
