   这篇文章已载于最新一期的学术期刊。 zhè piānwénzhāng yǐ zàiyú zuìxīn yīqī de xuéshùqīkān — This article has been published in the latest issue of the academic journal.

2. year (classical/old usage; appears in compounds)

   他在边疆度过了三载光阴。 tā zài biānjiāng dùguò le sānzài guāngyīn — He spent three years on the frontier.

载 — zài

1. to carry; to convey; to load; to hold; to fill up

   卡车载着货物驶向港口。 kǎ chēzài zhe huòwù shǐxiàng gǎngkǒu — The truck is carrying goods to the port.

2. and; also; as well as; simultaneously (literary/formal use linking nouns or actions)

   他既是老师，载是作家，深受学生尊敬。 tā jìshì lǎoshī zài shì zuòjiā shēnshòu xuéshēng zūnjìng — He is both a teacher and also a writer, and is much respected by students.
