1. to change key (in music); to modulate

   这首曲子在副歌部分转调，听起来更加激昂。 zhè shǒu qǔzi zài fùgē bùfèn zhuǎndiào tīng qǐlái gèngjiā jīáng — In this piece the chorus modulates to a different key, sounding more rousing.
