转移 — zhuǎnyí

1. to move/relocate; to transfer (people or things from one place to another)

   他们决定把工厂转移到郊区。 tāmen juédìng bǎ gōngchǎng zhuǎnyí dào jiāoqū — They decided to relocate the factory to the suburbs.

2. to divert or shift (attention, topic); (fig.) to change the subject

   别再转移话题，回答我的问题。 bié zài zhuǎnyí huàtí huídá wǒ de wèntí — Don't change the subject—answer my question.

3. (medicine) to metastasize; to spread (disease or cancer cells) to another part of the body

   医生说癌细胞已经转移到肝脏。 yīshēng shuō áixìbāo yǐjīng zhuǎnyí dào gānzàng — The doctor said the cancer cells have already metastasized to the liver.
