身后 — shēnhòu

1. the time after one's death; after death

   他把遗产留给了身后的人。 tā bǎ yíchǎn liúgěi le shēnhòu de rén — He left his estate to those behind him (after his death).

2. a place behind somebody; at one's back

   小心身后有人在走动。 xiǎoxīn shēnhòu yǒurén zài zǒudòng — Be careful, someone is moving behind you.

3. (fig.) one's social background or backing; connections

   他能做出这种决定，是因为身后有强大的支持。 tā néng zuòchū zhèzhǒng juédìng shìyīnwèi shēnhòu yǒu qiángdà de zhīchí — He can make such decisions because he has strong backing behind him.
