   他蹉跎了大好年华。 tā cuōtuó le dàhǎo niánhuá — He squandered his prime years.

2. (literary) to slip or fade away (of looks, color, time); to become diminished

   她的容颜在岁月中蹉跎。 tā de róngyán zài suìyuè zhōng cuōtuó — Her looks faded away with the years.
