跳神 — tiàoshén

1. to space out; to lose concentration; to have one’s mind wander

   开会的时候他老是跳神，听不见别人说什么。 kāihuì de shíhòu tā lǎo shì tiàoshén tīngbújiàn biérén shuō shénme — He keeps zoning out during meetings and can't hear what others are saying.

2. dazed; absent-minded; distracted

   他看起来有点跳神，眼神恍惚。 tā kànqǐlái yǒudiǎn tiàoshén yǎnshén huǎnghū — He looks a bit dazed, his gaze vacant.
