路霸 — lùbà

1. brigand; bandit (historical)

   古代路霸常在山道上抢劫过路商旅。 gǔdài lùbà cháng zài shāndào shàng qiǎngjié guòlù shānglǚ — In ancient times bandits often robbed merchants traveling on mountain roads.

2. (modern) uncivil driver; road hog

   那位路霸不停地按喇叭、并线不打灯，真危险。 nàwèi lùbà bùtíng dì àn lǎbā bìng xiàn bù dǎ dēng zhēn wēixiǎn — That road hog kept honking and changing lanes without indicating; it was dangerous.

3. (PRC) person who sets up an illegal toll

   有人在郊区的路口摆摊收费，被指控为路霸。 yǒurén zài jiāoqū de lùkǒu bǎitān shōufèi bèi zhǐkòng wèi lùbà — Someone set up a booth charging fees at a suburban junction and was accused of being an illegal toll operator.

4. (Taiwan) person who uses part of the street as their private parking place

   那条街的几个店家把骑楼占为己用，成了路霸影响通行。 nàtiáo jiē de jǐgè diànjiā bǎ qílóu zhànwèi jǐ yòng chéng le lùbà yǐngxiǎng tōngxíng — Several shops on that street occupied the covered sidewalk as their own, becoming road hogs that obstruct passage.
