路数 — lùshù

1. method; approach; way of doing things

   他有一套自己的路数，做事很有条理。 tā yǒu yītào zìjǐ de lùshù zuòshì hěn yǒutiáolǐ — He has his own way of doing things and works very methodically.

2. stratagem; trick; tactic

   他用了不少路数才把对手骗过来。 tāyòng le bùshǎo lùshù cái bǎ duìshǒu piàn guòlái — He used several tricks to lure the opponent over.

3. (martial arts) movement; technique

   这个拳法的路数很复杂，需要长期练习。 zhège quánfǎ de lùshù hěn fùzá xūyào chángqī liànxí — The movements of this boxing style are complex and require long practice.

4. social connections; network; who someone knows

   他的路数在人脉关系上很广，很容易找到合适的人选。 tā de lùshù zài rénmàiguānxì shàng hěn guǎng hěn róngyì zhǎodào héshì de rénxuǎn — He has wide connections and can easily find suitable people.

   你得先了解她的路数，才能决定要不要合作。 nǐ dé xiān liǎojiě tā de lùshù cáinéng juédìng yào bùyào hézuò — You should first learn about her background before deciding whether to cooperate.

   在谈判中，他们一直在试验不同的路数。 zài tánpàn zhōng tāmen yìzhí zài shìyàn bùtóng de lùshù — In the negotiations, they've been trying out different playbooks.
