跟着 — gēnzhe

1. to follow (after); to go after someone or something

   他跟着老师走进了教室。 tā gēnzhe lǎoshī zǒujìn le jiàoshì — He followed the teacher into the classroom.

2. immediately afterwards; then

   他先吃饭，跟着去上班。 tā xiān chīfàn gēnzhe qù shàngbān — He ate first and then went to work.
